Afridi finalizes not to join Hampshire
English cricket county Hampshire’s fears were confirmed as Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi ruled himself out of English County season. Shortly after stumps on day two of County Championship clash with Yorkshire, Giles White received confirmation that Shahid Afridi would miss Friends Provident T20 campaign this year. He was due to join fellow Pakistani Abdul Razzaq and possibly Brett Lee as Royals recruits for the competition which begins next month. Afridi ended his self exile from Test cricket and was appointed as captain for the upcoming Asia Cup and England tour. Hampshire’s team manager Giles White had expected news and fully understands Afridi’s decision. However, it still comes as a blow to the county boss, who now has to scramble for a replacement.
