Bangladesh lost battle of survival against India

Bangladesh lost their battle for survival as they were all out for 301 in their final iinings against India on fifth day of first Test match at Chittagong. India won the match by 113 runs. Sachin Tendulkar is Man of the Match.

Indians have come out trumps with a clinical display. Zaheer and Ishant ripped through the top order, paving way for Mishra to work his way through the middle order and the tail. Bangladesh were never really in the hunt. Their hopes of saving this match were dented in the 2nd over of the morning when Ashraful was dismissed.Tamim consolidated the innings at the start with a solid fifty but his wicket at the stroke of lunch opened the floodgates for India. Rahim came out all guns blazing, getting to a sparkling century - the fastest by a Bangladeshi - but in the end it was all too easy for India who win comprehesively to take a 1-0 lead in the series, which also reinforces their position at the top of the ICC rankings with 1 Test remaining at Dhaka starting on the 24th.
