Bangladesh will play five ODI matches against New Zealand in October instead of the scheduled two Tests and three limited-over contests.
Enayet Hossain Siraj, head of cricket operations at the Bangladesh Cricket Board told media that it was a decision by the Bangladesh cricket board to play ODIs instead of Test matches and they have informed New Zealand Cricket (NZC) authorities.
All five of the October ODIs will be played at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Siraj said the two countries would play two Tests after the end of the World Cup in April 2011. But in the meantime Bangladesh is keen to play more ODI matches instead of Tests to prepare for the tournament. Bengal Tigers have won just two of their 29 ODI matches this year.
