Sammy won the toss and chose to bat first in the 3rd and final Test against India in Mumbai. India has already won the series 2-0.

Chanderpaul could not make it to the playing eleven as the man is suffering from a calf strain. There was another forced change as their fast bowler Kemar Roach was down with gastroenteritis. While they had an adequate replacement for Roach in Ravi Rampaul, the loss of Chanderpaul weakened the batting.

Dhoni was a bit disappointed at losing the toss and hoped that the surface would give viatl assistance to his pacers. India made two changes to the XI that won the series in the previous two Tests. Varun Aaron, the Jharkhand fast bowler who created a buzz with his pace, took the place of Umesh Yadav, who was rested. And in an expected change, Virat Kohli replaced Yuvraj Singh at No. 6.

India:  Virender Sehwag,  Gautam Gambhir,  Rahul Dravid,  Sachin Tendulkar,  VVS Laxman,  Virat Kohli,  MS Dhoni (capt & wk),  R Ashwin,  Ishant Sharma,  Pragyan Ojha,  Varun Aaron

West Indies:  Adrian Barath,  Kraigg Brathwaite,  Kieran Powell,  Kirk Edwards,  Darren Bravo,  Marlon Samuels,  Darren Sammy (capt),  Carlton Baugh (wk),  Ravi Rampaul,  Fidel Edwards, Devendra Bishoo
