English batsmen Michael Yardy and Eoin Morgan shared a partnership of 67 runs to help the English team to secure a remarkable five wicket victory over Pakistan in the first of two T20 Internationals at Cardiff.
Michael Yardy and Eoin Morgan joined hands on crease at the start of 10th over when England were 62 for loss of 5 wickets. Both the batsmen shared a brilliant partnership which cruised England to a remarkable victory over Pakistan.
England started their innings poorly as they lost Kieswetter early. But Steve Davies and Ravi Bopara shared a partnership of 33 runs. This second wicket stand gave England an upper hand before Bopara was dismissed by Shoaib Akhtar. Pakistan increased the pressure on the English side by dismissing Collingwood, Davies and Wright to leave English side at 62 for loss of 5 wickets.
In spite of the impulsive collapse of middle and top order, Yardy and Morgan steadied at the crease to make England victorious against Pakistan. Michael Yardy was declared as the Man of the Match for his bowling figures of 21/1 from 4 overs and his match winning innings of 35 runs off 26 balls.
