In Monday’s One Day International against Zimbabwe, Dean Brownlie, a famous Kiwi batsman acquired an injury on his left finger.
He played the succeeding match at Cobham Oval in Whangarei. He suffered severe pain and swelling on one of his left fingers while he got hit by a ball during fielding.
The Black Caps' Physiotherapist Paul Close said: "Dean complained of soreness with the hand becoming more painful and swollen today. An x-ray this evening confirmed a fracture."
"He is expected to miss the remainder of the Zimbabwe series but it's a bit early to tell how long he will be out. His return to cricket will be based on how quickly the fracture heals and we should have clearer idea of the timeframe and best course of treatment after he meets with the orthopaedic surgeon tomorrow."
Later on the team physiotherapist had undergone an x ray test of his finger and reported of a finger bone fracture.
He has been advised complete rest and in due reason will not be able to play for the remaining matches against Zimbabwe in the One Day International series.
