The Melbourne Stars have secured their place in the KFC Big Bash semi finals after an ample seven wicket victory over the Adelaide Strikers.

The Stars knocked off the Strikers by chasing the target of 125 and earned a place in semi final where they will be battling with Perth Scorchers.

Clint Mckay who got 3 wickets for just 17 runs was the main bowler who excelled with the ball to leave the home side a simple run chase.

Although two batsman of Stars, Rob Quiney (2) and Luke Wright (9), were gone in the beginning, they sealed victory thanks to David Hussey (41) and Cameron White (28).

It was a disappointing night for the Striker who crashed out of the tournament after a stuttering performance.
