The Indo-Pak bilateral cricket taking a continuous hit and getting stalled is "frustrating", claims Shoaib Akhtar. However, the former pacer is opposed to PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf's take calling it "politically incorrect" about team India being unsettled by Pakistan’s good form and afraid to take over them.
The fast bowler was of the opinion that he could gauge what the PCB chief was thinking when he mouthed the blasphemous statement regarding relations with India.
"Obviously it is frustrating the way the Indians have avoided playing us for some reason or the other all these years. But I think Zaka Ashraf's statement was a bit too strong and he needed to be careful while giving comments because of his position as PCB chairman," the former pacer said on a television show.
"I think he meant that Pakistan in the form that it is currently, could beat anyone. It is also a fact that since 1985 we have won more matches against India because we have produced some of the most exciting talent in international cricket," he said.
Retiring after the 2011 World Cup,Akhtar had stated in a good vein that the fact Pakistan and India not playing too often against each other was adverse to the spirit of good cricketing relations and deprived the innumerable cricket lovers and fans of exiting stand-offs.
He also commented on young pacer Aamir's recent discharge from prison, saying that Aamir young blood and inexperienced age was responsible for driving him into committing a shameful crime.
