Bangladesh face humiliating defeat at Belfast
Ireland beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets to win first of two match ODI series in Ireland. William Potterfield smacks fifth ODI century to take Ireland to victory mark.

Irish captain William Potterfield smacked his fifth ODI century to take Ireland to victory mark in first of two ODI matches at Belfast. Potterfield won the toss and decided to put Bangladesh to bat. Bangladesh set a target of 234 for Ireland to win. Junaid Siddique and Shakibul Hassan set a 107 runs partnership to rescue Bangladesh from early trouble as at one stage they were 28 for 3. Junaid smacked his maiden ODI century today.
 
Ireland started off their chase with more confidence. Potterfield and Paul Stirling set a 118 runs opening partnership to guide Ireland towards victory. Paul Stirling was the first man to go.He was dismissed by Abdur Razzak after scoring 52 runs. Potterfield continued batting aggressively and smashed his fifth ODI century. Potterfield was dismissed by Mortaza after scoring 108 runs off 116 balls. Neil O'brian was the third man to go as he was dismissed LBW by Rasel after scoring just 5 runs. Alex Cusack remained unbeaten for 45 as he finally took Ireland to the victory mark. Ireland crossed the target with 5 overs to spare.
 
William Potterfield was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant performance with bat as he scored 108 runs off 116 balls. The second ODI match will be played tomorrow at Belfast. The match will begin at 09:45 GMT.
