Ireland has returned to the Caribbean for ICC Twenty20 World Cup in eager to go for more wins after their famous victory over Pakistan 3 years ago.
Ireland is grouped with West Indies and England for World T20. Irish know that they will have to beat one of Test playing nations if they want to advance to the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup. They aim to repeat the success they had last year in England.
Having beating Pakistan in the ODI World Cup in 2007, Irish feel confident that the T20 format is perfect for further wins over giants. Irish coach Phil Simmons said, "I think it's easier to pull off a shock in Twenty20 because recovery time is less than in 50 overs".
Phil Simmons is a former West Indies batsman and is coaching Irish team these days. He added that, "Ireland have played little bit more T20 than we had going into the last World Cup, so we are slightly wiser about Twenty20 cricket".
