Johnson head-butts Styris

Mitchell Johnson head-butted Scott Styris as Australia's 5 year ODI losing splash in New Zealand continued.

The Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson blew his stack when Styris hit him successive boundaries in the 46th over of the New Zealand's 2 wicket victory. Having bumped shoulders, Johnson went back to his mark and pointed at Styris to threaten a bouncer. He pitched his next ball up and when it went for four, Johnson walked down the pitch for another exchange of pleasantries. They got up close and personal, right in each other's faces and then Johnson thrust his head forward. Styris felt no pain as he was wearing a helmet.

After match, Styris accepted a level-one charge under the ICC's code of conduct and was fined 15 per cent of his match fee while Johnson accepted a grade-two charge and was fined 60 per cent of his match fee.
