Kiwis bowl out Zimbabwe twice in one day

New Zealand set a record by scoring their biggest winning margin in a Test match against Zimbabwe and trounced them by an innings and 301 runs.

The day was started with New Zealand playing at 392-5. Afterwards they added 103 in 18 overs which includes a maiden Test century of BJ Watling.

New Zealand declared the innings at 4975-7.

Chris Martin, the fast bowler of New Zealand routed Zimbabwe twice in the same day.

The winning margin was seven runs better than New Zealand's eelier record of an innings and 294 runs set in 2005 and also against Zimbabwe.

Martin took 2 for 5 off 6 overs in Zimbabwe's first innings and then 6 for 26 off 8.3 overs in the second innings.

Watling (102 not out) and his skipper Ross Taylor (122 retired hurt) both scored centuries, with support roles from Brendon McCullum (83) and Martin Guptill (51).
