Martin Guptill with the bat and Kyle Mills with the balls helped New Zealand defeat Zimbabwe in the 1st ODI in Dunedin.

The exquisite ground with exotic pace and bounce rendered the vibrant batsmen docile and innocuous against the seamers of the country of New Zealand.

Kyle Mills scalped successive wickets with the ball which resulted in an ineffective display of Zimbabwean batting, as three batsmen saw the way to the dressing room, rendering the latter into a faulty collapse in Napier as well.

Taibu was bound to perish in a brisk period within the 6.1 overs , attempting aggression whereas Taylor, who was added to the side after an exquisite stint for a couple of months in the HRV cup,  hit the debutant Andrew Ellis off the bat for two awesome, successive boundaries down the leg side.

Thus, Zimbabwe’s hopes of plentiful successive wins in the one day internationals over New Zealand was forced to be called a day, with a petty score line of 97 for 5 with the end of 26th over—that is just half way into the innings.
