Nathyan Lyon, who playes for South Australia in the domestic competition, might miss at least the next two Sheffield Shield matches due to a thigh injury.

Lyon, despite having the problem, had continued playing the Test series against India and somehow, was able to pick 7 wickets in the 4 match series. Cricket Australia's medical staff however, are concerned about his situation and are wanting him to see rest and recover.

"Nathan Lyon has been carrying a muscle strain in the right thigh for the majority of the Test series against India," Australia's physio Alex Kountouris said. "This injury has gradually become worse throughout the course of the series and has come to a point where he needs a break to allow it to heal. He will undergo a rehabilitation program and we anticipate his return to cricket in the next two to three weeks."

The last Test in his home ground at Adelaide gave him five of his seven wickets – at an average of 41.57 against India. Australia, expects him to play an important role in the often-slow-wickets game in April's Test tour of the Caribbean.
