West Indies have been out of T20 World Cup 2010. Australia cruised to a comprehensive 6 wicket victory. Sri Lankans have reached Semi Final.
The Australian victory allows Sri Lanka to finish second in Group F and set up a semi final clash with England while Australia will face off against the defending champions, Pakistan in the second semi final on 14th May.
West Indies set a total of just 106 runs for victory. The Aussies started their run chase winning with 3 overs to spare with David Warner and Shane Watson suffering rare failures with the bat. Brad Haddin remained top scored for the Aussies.
The West Indies tamed batting display meant that they had to restrict Aussies out for just 83 or less in order boost their run rate and leap Sri Lanka and qualify for the semi finals. Having lost Chris Gayle in the first over; Shivarine Chanderpaul offered some resistant but his wicket opened the flood gates as the hosts middle collapsed.
Steven Smith starred with the ball for the Aussies, the young spinner took 3 wickets including that of big hitting Kieron Pollard to leave Sri Lanka favorites to claim second place in Group F behind Australia.
