The Mumbai Indians claimed a comprehensive 39 run victory over the Delhi DareDevils which as opened up the race for the knock out stages of the Indian Premier League after the DareDevils lost their third consecutive game.
The DareDevils got off to a lightning start thanks to David Warner, the Aussie opener attacked the Indians bowlers smashing a quick fire 31 from just 15 ball before Dilhara Fernando struck before Warner could cause to much damage. Virender Sehwag and Guatam Gambhir built a second wicket partnership of 33 but when Sehwag was run out by Kerion Pollard the Daredevils suffered a dramatic collapse which saw them loss 5 wickets for the addition of just 22 runs.
Gambhir was caught by Harbhajan Singh of his own bowling before AB de Villiers, Paul Collingwood and Dinesh Karthik all followed as the DareDevils were reduced to 94-6. Amit Mishra soon followed after he was bowled by Fernando as the DareDevils crashed to a 39 run defeat which leaves the race for the semi finals wide open.
Kieron Pollard is the Man of the Match for his whirlwind innings of 45 runs in just 13 balls. 'Kamaal catch of the match award' goes to Ali Murtaza. 'Maximum sixes award' goes to Keiron Pollard.
