KP guides Bangalore to a simple victory over Rajasthan

Kevin Pietersen scored a superb half century to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore cruise to a comprehensive 5 wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals to all but guarantee their place in the IPL semi finals.

Rajasthan Royals set a low total of just 131 runs for victory for Bangalore. Kevin Pietersen defended the bowling attack of Rajasthan bowlers after the early wicket of Jacques Kallis.

After being dropped from the Royals Challengers for last three games, Kevin Pietersen showed that he is fit for number three position for Bangalore as well as for England during the Twenty20 World Cup. KP enjoyed a superb start to his innings dispatching Kamran Khan for 3 boundaries and a huge six in the 4^th over as he announced his intentions to win the game as soon as possible.

Despite losing the wickets of Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa, Pietersen struggled and guided the Royals Challengers toward victory before he was run out on 62. After his departure, RCB required just 18 more runs to wins. The victory was completed by Ross Taylor who hit the winning runs to complete an important victory for the Royals Challengers. RCB moves to number two position on the points table with 14 points.

Kevin Pietersen was the Man of the Match for his excellent struggle. The 'Kamaal catch of the Match' award was also given to Kevin Pietersen. The maximum sixes award was given to 'Kevin Pietersen'.
