Deccan Chargers defeated Chennai Super Kings

Deccan Chargers defeated Chennai Super Kings by 31 runs in Chennai. The defending IPL champions rebounded from their first loss with an extraordinary performance.

Adam Gilchrist, Herschelle Gibbs and Andrew Symonds, all played major roles with the bat before Suman and Rohit Sharma smashed 20 off the last over to set the Super Kings a run chase of 191 for victory. DC won the toss and elected to bat.

It has been a clinical performance from the Chargers and everything has gone their way right from the toss till the end of the match. Chasing a daunting target the Chennai Super Kings never really got going, losing quick wickets at regular intervals, with none of the batsmen except Morkel chipping in with a handy innings. Vaas was the pick of the bowlers again and he was well supported by Symo and Ojha who supported him very well. The Super Kings would be disappointed with the heavy defeat but they would know that they are a class team and it's still very early days in this tournament.

Chaminda Vaas was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling spell in which he claimed 3 wickets to restrict CSK at 160.
