Daredevils beat Chennai by 6 wickets

Daredevils captain Gautam Gambhir remained unruffled, although his top order collapsed early, to help his team claim an essential 6 wicket victory over the Chennai Super Kings to stay decisively in the chase for a place in the IPL semi finals.

Daredevils were set a total of just 113 to chase for victory but their run chase got off to the most disastrous of collapses as they lost three wickets in span of 10 balls as the Super Kings fought their way back into the game.

David Warner, Virender Sehwag and Tillakaratne Dilshan were blown away by Rivichandran Ashwin and Doug Bollinger. Daredevils' captain Gambhir and Dinesh Karthik weathered the storm before building a partnership of 32 which re-established the visitors' advantage despite the loss of Karthik in the 6th over

Gambhir rebuilt the DareDevils innings playing the prefect skippers role scoring a superb half century to lead the visitors to an important victory after the Daredevils were on the ropes. He was partnered by Mithun Manhas who remained unbeaten for 25.

Gautam Gambhir is the Man of the Match for his match-winning half century. Matthew Hayden won the award for the best catch. Doug Bollinger had a smile on his face when he collected the award for maximum sixes.

Chennai are not out of the tournament just yet. They are still in the fourth spot and have a decent NRR. They should win their last match and hope a couple of other results go their way to reach the semi-finals.
