New Zealand were put to bat first by Zimbabwe in the 1st ODI at Dunedin. They have won the one-off test with a convincing margin. New Zealand, in keeping with their new love of seamer's strips, have prepared another pitch that is greener than usual.

Without their captain, Ross Taylor, Kiwis have managed to say right things about not releasing the brake or allowing Zimbabwe any wriggle room.

Legspinner Tarun Nethula and left-armer Michael Bates have been released from the final squad of 12.

Tom Latham is most likely to bat at No.4 and is about to make his ODI debut.

Andrew Ellis too, is expected to make the playing XI.

New Zealand: (probable)  Rob Nicol,  Martin Guptill,  Brendon McCullum (capt & wk),  Tom Latham,  Dean Brownlie/Kane Williamson,  Nathan McCullum,  Doug Bracewell,  Andrew Ellis,  Jacob Oram,  Kyle Mills,  Tim Southee

Zimbabwe: (probable)  Regis Chakabva,  Hamilton Masakadza,  Brendan Taylor (capt),  Tatenda Taibu,  Forster Mutizwa,  Malcolm Waller,  Elton Chigumbura,  Keegan Meth/Prosper Utseya,  Ray Price,  Kyle Jarvis, Brian Vitori
