The huge victory over Sydney Thunder with nine wickets made the Perth Scorches the first squad to finalize their position in the semifinals of KFC Big Bash League, held at Stadium Australia of Sydney.
Brad Hogg (2-8) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (3-9) led the Perth Scorches to their fifth straight victory. Chris Gayle (20) and Tim Armstrong (25) have tried their best to claw back in the competition and help the home side stay alive.
Even after earnest efforts, the wickets kept falling at regular intervals and hence the only decent partnership of the home side failed to a disappointing total of only 99.
