Sehwag ready to bat in 3rd Test
Virendar Sehwag, whose absence has not been affordable by the Indian side, is set to join the team in the 3rd Test. The hard-hitting opener was recovering from a shoulder injury and has thus not been able to play in the first two matches of the Test series.
India had to go for Abhinav Mukund in place of Sehwag, and Mukund has not really impressed the team with the bat.
The tourists will be playing a 2-day tour match against Northants starting from Friday ahead of the 3rd Test which will begin on 10th of august in Edgbaston.
It is interesting to note that Sehwag scored his first century as an opener at Trent Bridge in 2002, though he missed the 2007 tour.
Sehwag was made part of the squad but later it was suggested that he should be given a two weeks rest to recover from his shoulder injury, owing to which he also missed the Caribbean tour.
India really needs him to come in and lead the batting from the front.
