Hosts Zimbabwe has chased a seemingly unappeasable target of 329 in the 3rd and final ODI of the series against New Zealand. New Zealand has already won the series by winning the first two matches.
Malcolm Waller was the man who hit a match winning 99 runs innings and Zimbabwe made the highest second innings total ever in a one-dayer at the Bulawayo ground to overhaul New Zealand's imposing 328-5 with a ball to spare.
Waller's match-winning innings came off just 74 balls after Zimbabwe appeared to be down and out at 183-5 after 30 overs. The 27-year-old right-hander hit 10 fours and a six in a stunning fightback to give the Zimbabweans their first win of the tour - and first win in an ODI in eight attempts.
He was dropped by NZ captain Ross Taylor twice off the first two balls of the last over.
Potent Taibu hit an aggressive 53 but it was a swashbuckling sixth wicket stand of 112 off 85 balls between Waller and Elton Chigumbura that put victory within reach for Zimbabwe.
Batting first, New Zealand captain Taylor (119) and Williamson (100 not out) shared a fifth wicket stand of 195 off only 133 balls.
Oram took 3 for 44 for New Zealand while two wickets fell to each of McKay and woodcock.
