Murali calls Bedi as "Controversy Monger"

Murali calls Bedi as

Muralitharan described Bedi a controversy monger and an ordinary bowler who would have been thrashed by any batsman if had he been playing in the modern era cricket.

Sri Lankan test cricket legend Muttiah Muralitharan lashed out at his long-time detractor Bishen Singh Bedi by calling him a "controversy monger" and ordinary bowler who would have been hammered by any batsman if he was playing cricket in modern era. Bedi has been an untiring critic of Muralitharan by repeatedly calling him a "chucker" and asking the ICC to ban his "doosra" as it was illegal.

Muralitharan, who retired last week after completing 800 Test wickets at Galle against India, made an uncharacteristic attack on Bedi by saying that he was just an ordinary bowler. Indians have always lacked in the field of spin bowling. He said that except Harbhjan Singh and Anil Kumble, no other Indian spinner had ever been considered as a world-class bowler.

Muralitharan lampooned Bishan Singh Bedi by saying that he has no variations in his bowling and therefore he only criticizes others. Muralitharan said Anil Kumble was the best spinner India has produced and records speak for themselves. No doubt should be about Kumble and nobody can doubt it. Statistical data clearly reveals that he is far ahead than other Indian spinners including Bishan Singh Bedi.
