Time for Pakistan to be banned, says Botham

English legend Sir Ian Botham said on today that Pakistan should be banned from international cricket until corruption allegations against their cricketers have been fully investigated.

Sir Ian Botham believes that the Pakistan cricket team  have a "cancerous problem" and said it was time for Paksitan side to be banned from international competition. The relations between the Pakistan and England cricket teams have turned poisonous after Pakistan Cricket board chairman Ijaz Butt suggested the home side had thrown Friday's ODI at The Oval.

Ijaz Butt's inflammatory comments have caused tensions to boil over with Pakistan's Wahab Riaz and England's Jonathan Trott reportedly involved in an altercation in the nets just before the toss in the fourth ODI match at Lord's.

English captain Andrew Strauss said the players were "outraged" by Butt's comments. Pakistan's tour has been engulfed in controversy following accusations of spot-fixing following a Sunday tabloid sting at the end of last month. Ian Botham believes that Pakistan should be thrown out of the sport altogether. He said it was time to ban Pakistan.
