India beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets to claim a bonus point victory over the hosts. Sehwag finished the game in a dramatic style but remained unbeaten on 99.

India had a few wobbles at the start, but Sehwag paced the chase beautifully. Rarely have we seen him bat for the first 5 overs of an innings without scoring a boundary. In fact he scored his first boundary in the 6th over. After he got his eye in, he shifted gears and motored along. This was Sehwag's first fifty in 12 innings. India have also registered their first points in this series.
