India beat New Zealand and reach finals
India beat New Zealand by 110 runs to motorized into the finals of the Micromax Tri-series on August 28 at Dambulla and will face Sri Lanka. Virender Sehwag was declared man of the match for his smashing 110 runs.
It was all too easy for the Indians to win this virtual semi-final. Bowling under lights they exploited the conditions to the hilt and handed New Zealand a crushing loss. With this win, India have cruised to the finals of the Micromax ODI series and will play against Sri Lanka at Dambulla on August 28. Special mention must be made of Praveen Kumar and Nehra who decimated the Kiwi top order thereby making the remainder of the contest a formality. Mills at the end, threw his bat around and had some fun. India will be thrilled with this win and would now meet Sri Lanka in the final on Saturday.
